Potential Filming Problems : -move the camera at wrong time so have to start all over again. -one of the shots are off /miss a shot have to start over again. -something in the shot moves when is not needed to have to start all over again. -the time of day will change from day to night -lighting will change.

Assignment 2 Task 4

Focus Group: Choosing the final idea

I made little sheets with a question on it
out of the 3 below which of the following which will you think will make the best ident for E4

Lego ident,snow ident,beach ident 

I showed a group of people each of the animatic. and at the end i explain to them about each of the idents and what would be happening in them. after i got them to mark down which of the following they would like the see

most of the people voted for the lego ident because they felt it fit the channel.

The focus group seem to like the idea of the lego ident and they didn't need to change anything for the ident. so i am keeping it the same.

Below shows some of the sheets i gave to people to tick which ident idea they would like to see.

Most of the ones i handed out and got back was ticked lego ident.

assigment 2 task 3

I made 3 idents in suite where all these ident have building involved.

my first idea is of lego that will be creating the logo of the E4 channel. it will start off with the camrea starting at towards the floor and wall with nothing there for a few seconds. Then lego will be poured onto the floor. The lego will then slowly move by its self by using stop frame anmimation. The lego will then slowly gather and farm the E4 logo. While this is happening calm and relaxing music will be playing during all of this.

My second idea for an ident is set in snow. 4 people will be walking in the park and stop and start to create a snowman. They each make each part of the body. 2 people will be making the base of the snowman 1 will make the body of the snowman and the last one will be making the head.They will then put all the parts together and then they will start to decorate the snowman and on the body of the snowman there will be the E4 logo made out of stones on the snowman.



My third idea is set at the beach where 3 people will be walking along the beach and then they start to dig up the number 4 in the sand. they will then fill it up with water and place sand back in the number 4 to form the letter E which will then make the E4 logo. Then the 3 people walk away and the tide comes in and washes the E4 logo away.

each of these idents are based around construction where you have the E4 logo made out of lego which is a building block which can mean constructing. Then you have the snowman where people are building (constructing) the snowman by using the snow. The last ident is sand where the ident is made (constructing) from sand and water where the sand in the middle of the water will be the letter E and the water will be the number 4 creating the E4 logo.

My final idea of which one i will be filming will be the lego ident as it is easier and i don't have to wait for it to snow or travel far to get to a beach. I feel the lego ident will fit in well because it is mainly random and can be made easily. It will be a stop frame animation so it looks as if the lego is moving by its self and creating the E4 logo. It will appeal to the target audience because loads of people love lego and will be amazed of how the ident will be created. The ident can be used thought out the day because its lego and lego can be played with all time of the day and it can easily be made at night time for all hours of the day.

Peoples comment to the question: is there anything you dislike about the idents for E4?
Don't really dislike anything,
They are too short,

I don't dislike anything about the ident,
Sometimes they don't make much sense,

Mainly of the people they said they don't dislike the ident which shows the ident does a good job in keeping the viewers entertained.

I don't like anything about the ident,
How it matches of how the programme will be like,
Gets me in the mood for the programme thats coming on,

It leads well into the programme.

Most people that answered this liked the ident because it mixed well with the programs that was going to come on after the ident. 

I asked the question. What does the E4 Ident tell you about the channel?

Not a great deal, but perhaps that it is a bit of a random channel

When i put a rating for the E4 ident the main i got out of 10 was 8 which shows the ident is good and people enjoy them.

When asked the question. If a new ident was made what style would you like it to be? and most people put comedy. while people added the style lego which could be a good idea to add comedy together
